WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College dropped a 79-61 final to visiting Keuka College in a nonconference men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon. Thw Wildcats dropped to 1-1 on the season while the Wolves moved to 1-0.
How it happened: The Wildcats posted a quick lead on a Ronn Flood Jr. bucket and a
Gavin Barrett layup before the shots started to fall for the Wolves. Penn College held a 9-7 lead after a Barrett J with 15:27 on the clock, but a Keuka response and insurance on back-to-back baskets put the Wolves in front for good to hold a 42-28 lead at the half and maintained the lead through the second half.Â
In the second stanza,
Livingston Cross gave the Wildcats a boost to get the deficit within single-digits (44-35) on a fast-break steal and layup with 17:31 left to play, but a 9-0 response over the ensuing two minutes by Keuka padded its lad back to double-digits.Â
Inside the box: Cross finished the game earning team-highs 20 points and eight boards and three steals. Barrett aided with12 points and a team-best four assists.Â
Keuka dropped 8-27 from the 3-point line and shot 50% (31-62) overall while the Wildcats hit just 1-of-13 from beyond-the-arc.
