CRESSON, Pa. – Penn College earned an 11-6 win over Mount Aloysius in a nonconference baseball game Monday. The Wildcats improved to 17-16, while the Mounties fell to 19-2.
How it happened: After MAC took a 1-0 lead in the first, the Wildcats answered with a
Brandon Shane homer in the second,
Shawn Townsend's sacrifice in the fourth, and
Matt Munoz' home run in the fifth to take a 3-1 lead. The Mounties plated a run in the fifth but Munoz answered with a RBI in the sixth to keep PCT ahead, 4-2.
Mount Aloysius scored one in the sixth, and two in the eighth, to take a 5-4 lead. Bases loaded walks from
John Croasdale,
Anthony Barbella, and Townsend brought in three runs in the ninth, while
Jaydon Goebel's single, Shane's hit-by-pitch,
Jaiden Augustine's fielder's choice and a Munoz single added to Penn College's seven-run ninth inning.
Inside the box: Munoz finished with three hits and three RBI for PCT and Barbella finished with a pair of hits.
Wyatt Hershey improved to 2-0 after two-thirds inning of work.
