Wildcats Stretch Winning Streak to Seven

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College earned a doubleheader victory against Gallaudet to remain undefeated in United East softball action on Saturday. The Wildcats won 8-0 in game one before claiming a 9-2 victory in game two. PCT improved to 14-4 and 6-0 in the United East. The Bison dropped to 4-12, 0-6 UE.

In game one,
Mackenzie Weaver was dominant from the circle once again, allowing just one hit and striking out 10 in the six-inning complete game. PCT plated four runs in the first inning, two in the second and one in the third and sixth. Jese Brumbaugh hit a walk-off single to score Madison Herriman to end the game in the bottom of the sixth.

Brumbaugh and Lexi Snyder both had two hits and drove in a run. Grace Lorson, Herriman and Ivvy Morder all scored twice.

In game two,
Fayth Anderson was dealing from the circle as she rung up a season-high 13 Bison for her fifth victory on the year. The Wildcats plated four runs in the first inning as Morder singled to drive in Herriman and Snyder singled to put two runners on for a three-run home run over the left field fence off the bat of Weaver. Penn College drove in a run in the second and another four-run burst in the fifth inning.

Herriman went 3-for-4 at the plate with a run and an RBI. Morder, Snyder, Maggie Mangene and Madison Shaffer all collected two hits in game two.
