WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College drew with St. Vincent, 1-1, in a nonconference women's soccer match Saturday at UPMC Field. The Wildcats improved to 2-0-3, while the Bearcats improved to 4-1-1.
How it happened: Penn College got on the board in the second minute when
Sierra Klinger's pass was finished by
Olivia Casella. The Wildcats had two more looks on frame in the half but attempts by
Cassie Johnson and
Wiley Egan were saved.
Nicole Lichtinger turned away three shots on goal in the first half to keep PCT ahead, 1-0, at the break.
After two shots on goal to start the second half, St. Vincent finally broke through in the 78
th minute when the ball was rebounded off the crossbar and deposited to the back of the net.
Inside the box: The Bearcats outshot Penn College, 14-4 (8-4 on-goal), and held a 5-3 advantage on corner kicks. Lichtinger finished with seven saves.
