WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College dropped a 3-1 decision against Wilson in a United East women's volleyball matchup Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats dropped to 2-6 UE, 5-20 overall while the Phoenix improved to 1-7 UE, 1-20.
How it happened: Wilson jumped out to a 2-set lead with scores of 25-23 and 25-14, before the Wildcats settled in to claim the third set, 25-17. PCT went on a 4-0 run to open the third frame and later had a 9-0 run to lead 16-5.
Nashalie Vializ and
Taryn Smith both scored service aces late in the set before a pair of Wilson errors finished the third-set scoring.
The Phoenix claimed the match with a score of 25-18 in the fourth set.
Inside the box: Ellen Banfill posted her second-straight double-double with 24 assists and 14 digs. Nashalie VIaliz posted a team-high 24 digs and two service aces while
Haylie Thomsen also scored 13 digs and a team-high three aces.Â
