Six Wildcats Highlighted in NWCA Preseason Region Rankings

MANHEIM, Pa. -- Six Penn College wrestlers were highlighted in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) preseason regional rankings, released on Monday. Sophomore Carter Davis (York, Pa.) enters the 2025-26 season as the highest regionally ranked Wildcat at No. 2 at 165 pounds. Junior 197-pounder, Nick Woodruff (Wyalusing, Pa.), is third while sophomore 125-pounder Justin Adams (York, Pa.), and juniors, 149-pounder, TJ Martin (Honesdale, Pa.), 184-pounder Isaac Cory (Muncy, Pa.), and 285-pounder Nicholai Brotzman (Marietta, Pa.) were all slotted fifth in the first Region 2 rankings of the season.

Davis is coming off a freshman campaign where he went a team-best 28-5 and placed fourth at the Region 2 Championships, just missing out on an NCAA qualification. Woodruff posted a 19-8 record and reached the Region 2 semifinals before falling to National Runner-up Cameron Butka of Wilkes and finishing sixth on the region podium.

Cory finished fifth and Martin finished eighth at last season's Region 2 Championship. The duo look to build off their 2024-25 season where Cory went 15-7 while still recovering from injury and Martin held the second-best record on the team at 24-11.

Adams and Brotzman just missed the Region 2 Championship podium a season ago, but did claim Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference individual titles and post 20-plus win season. Adams finished 21-12 in his freshman campaign and Brotzman posted a 20-6 record with a team-best 17 pins.

Penn College opens the season on Saturday at Alvernia's Tonee Ellis Memorial tournament while all five regionally ranked PCT wrestlers begins their season next Friday and Saturday at the Ithaca Invitational.
