MANHEIM, Pa. – For the second-straight season, four Penn College wrestlers were honored with National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Men's Scholar All-American honors, the organization announced on Thursday. Senior
Brett Patton (West Chester, Pa.), secured his first award and joined juniors
TJ Martin (Honesdale, Pa.) and
Nick Woodruff (Wyalusing, Pa.) and sophomore
Carter Davis (York, Pa.) who all collected their second consecutive Scholar All-America awards.
In order to be recognized, a wrestler must have at least a 3.2 GPA and either place in the regional tournament or have at 66% or greater winning percentage in a season with at least 15 matches.
A total of 473 student-athletes representing 105 institutions were recognized for their academic success in the classroom while competing throughout the season.

Davis, who is studying in the HVAC Engineering Technoloy program, led the Wildcats for the second season as he sported a 31-6 record with a team-high 11 tech falls, six majors and nine decisions while also reaching the Region 2 Championship finals to earn a trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships. The Wildcats 165-pounder won three tournaments including the Ithaca Invite, Shenandoah Invite and his second AMCC Championship title during the season. Davis went 3-2 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, falling one match short of the podium.
Woodruff, a Residential Building Technology and Management major, joined Davis at the national tournament at 197 pounds. Woodruff placed third at the Region 2 Championships while also securing an individual title and the team title at the AMCC Championships. He posted a 14-7 record with seven falls through the season, including a 2-2 mark in Cedar Rapids, upsetting the fourth-seeded Cal Dorota of Wartburg, 1-0 to reach the quarterfinals.
Martin, an HVAC Engineering Tech major, went 18-6 at 149 pounds to move in sole possession of second all-time with 77 career wins in PCT history. He collected five pins, six tech falls and a major decision this season. Martin claimed an Ithaca Invite title and became a three-time all-conference selection with a runner-up finish in the AMCC Championships.
Patton, an HVAC Engineering Tech major, closed out his career with a 14-7 record with seven pins and four tech falls and finished with the 13th-most victories in Penn College history (47). Competing at 157 pounds this season, Patton earned runner-up honors at the AMCC Championships and also reached the podium with a seventh-place finish to begin his senior campaign at Alvernia's Tonee Ellis Memorial Tournament and had a fourth-place finish at Elizabethtown's Kenneth Ober Invite.
