KUEKA PARK, N.Y. – Penn College was outscored in the second half, 48-36, in a 77-66 setback to Keuka College in a nonconference men's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 0-4, while the Wolves improved to 2-2.
How it happened: In a back-and-forth first half, which saw the lead change nine times, and the game deadlocked three times, Penn College took a 21-16 lead on
Brian Rivera's three with 7:54 left before the break. Keuka responded with a13-6 run to lead 29-27 with 39 ticks left until Jessyn Sheuy drained a trey to put the Wildcats ahead 30-29 at halftime.
PCT opened the second half with 9-2 spurt and took its largest lead, 39-31, on Owen Necomer's long ball with 17:48 on the clock. The Wolves exploded with a 17-5 run, spanning nearly 10 minutes, to lead 58-44 with 8:14 left in the game and never looked back.
Inside the box: Newcomer led the Wildcats with 12 points, on 4 of 9 from downtown,
Jay Henry added 11, while
Landon Reeder pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
