ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. -- Third-seed Penn College suffered a 2-0 loss at second-seeded St. Mary's in the United East Women's Soccer semifinals on Tuesday evening. The Wildcats' 2025 campaign came to a close with a 15-3-2 record. The Seahawks improved to 13-6-2 and reached the Championship game for the second consecutive season.
How it happened: St. Mary's held on to two first half goals in the ninth and 35th minutes. Off the restart in the ninth minute, the Wildcats lined up for one of their two corner kicks, but
Sara Darlington's kick missed just right of the net.Â
Darlington posted two more shots that were both turned away at the 28:18 and 29:12 marks. The Wildcats were held without a shot on goal in the second half and just four shots over the final 45 minutes.Â
Inside the box: Morgan Solano posted eight saves in the loss. St. Mary's held a 16-8 shot advantage (10-2 on-goal).
