SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Penn College's men's and women's tennis teams lost in nonconference play against King's College on Friday, the men fell, 4-3 and the women dropped a 7-0 decision. The losses dropped the Penn College men to 1-5 and the women to 0-6. The King's men now are 3-5 and the King's women are 1-6.
How it happened men: The teams split in singles play, each winning three individual matches, and King's captured two of the three doubles matches to secure its team win.
Inside the box men: Singles winners for the Wildcats included Logan Ogden at No. 3, Seth Priestman at No. 4 and Matt Williams at No. 6.
How it happened women: King's captured all six singles matches and all three of the doubles matches as the Wildcats forfeited one singles match and one doubles match.
Inside the box women: The most competitive matches for Penn College came at No. 3 singles, where Faith Murry lost 6-2, 7-5, and at No. 2 doubles, where Murry and Kayla Weinzierl fell 6-4.
Up next: Penn College's women host Lock Haven at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, and both teams step into United East play at 1 p.m. next Saturday at Penn State Berks.
