ABINGTON, Pa. — Eighth-seeded Penn College's women's tennis team fell, 4-0 at No. 5 Penn State Abington on Tuesday in a United East play-in match and was eliminated from further playoff action. Penn College finished 2-6 in the UE and is 2-14 overall. Abington advanced with a 5-3 UE record and is 9-6 overall.

How it happened: Abington won three singles matches — two by forfeit — and two doubles matches — one by forfeit. With a 4-0 match-clinching lead for the Lions, three contested singles matches went unfinished.

Up next: Penn College concludes its season at home at 4 p.m. on Friday with a nonconference match against Penn State Altoona.
