ALFRED, N.Y. – Penn College shutout Alfred State, 2-0, in a nonconference women's soccer match Sunday. The Wildcats improved to 2-0, while the Pioneers fell to 1-1.
How it happened: After a scoreless first half, Penn College got on the board in the 67
th minute when
Sara Darlington's directed-header, of
Ashley Gordon's corner kick, to
Brooke Klinger, who finished the shot. The Wildcats added an insurance goal in the 81
st minute after
Olivia Herman buried a
Cadence Holmberg pass.
Inside the box: Penn College outshot ASC, 9-4 (7-3 on-goal), and held an 11-3 advantage on corner kicks.
Taylor Brownback stopped three shots in goal to pick up the win.
