WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Penn College dropped a three-set match to visiting Elmira in nonconference women's volleyball action on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats fell to 1-7 while the Soaring Eagles moved to 2-5.
How it happened: After a back-and-forth first set fell in favor of Elmira, 25-19, the Soaring Eagles captured set two and three by scores of 25-10 and 25-15.
Inside the box: Nashalie Vializ and
Ellen Banfill both finished with a team-best two service aces while
Haylie Thomsen and
Kendall Shade led the offense with five and four kills, respectively. Banfill dished out 10 assists in 16 team kills and Vializ recorded nine digs on defense.
Up next: Penn College takes on Mount Aloysius on Friday at 5 p.m., in the first round of the McDaniel Invitational before taking on the host Green Terrors (10 a.m.) and North Carolina Wesleyan (2 p.m.) on Saturday.
