ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Penn College defeated Elmira, 6-0 in nonconference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon behind a pair of markers from
Megan Kurian. The Wildcats improved to 3-0-1 on the season, the Soaring Eagles fell to 0-3-0.
How it happened: Penn College's offense broke through the Elmira defense in the 17th minute when
Ashley Gordon hammered a ball over the keeper's glove. Five minutes later Kurian converted her first goal of the season on a feed by
Brooke Klinger to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead at the half.
Klinger tallied a goal in the 56th minute before the Wildcats rattled off three goals between the 72nd and 75th minutes.Â
Inside the box: Kurian finished the game with four points on two goals, Klinger recorded three points while
Sara Darlington dished out two assists and
Ella Garman scored her first career collegiate goal in the 75th minute.
The Wildcats outshot the Eagles, 19-1 (12-0 on-goal) in the win.
