Reeder Wins it at the Buzzer

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College's Landon Reeder sent Bardo Gym into a frenzy after his game-clinching three swished through with zeroes on the clock in an exciting 96-93 United East Conference victory over Wilson on Saturday. The win moved the Wildcats to 2-2 against conference opponents, 3-12 overall, and dropped the Phoenix to 1-3 UEC, 5-11 overall.

How it happened: After a game-opening three by Wilson, Jay Henry got a bucket and the foul to tie the game. The Wildcats settled in with a 30-16 run through the first nine minutes of action to gain their first double-digit lead of the day. Henry and Reeder poured in eight each, Octavio Alexander scored seven and Peyton Murphy added five points in the drive.

Wilson closed to within three, 47-44 just before the half.

In the second frame, the Phoenix came back to lead 52-51 with 16:20 to play as the two sides worked through seven lead changes over the next three minutes before a Murphy three pushed the Wildcats to a 62-59 lead.

The Wildcats kept their lead until back-to-back 3s by the Phoenix knotted the game at 93 with one minute to play.

Inside the box: Reeder set a career-high with 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting and 3-for-5 from deep. He also grabbed 12 rebounds to collect a double-double joining Alexander who finished with 21 points and 10 boards and Henry who put out a 16-point, 10-assist double-double to aid in the victory.
