MEDIA, Pa. — Penn College's tennis teams split in their United East matches at Penn State Brandywine on Wednesday, with the men winning 7-0 and the women losing 4-3. The Penn College men are 3-2 in the UE and 4-6 overall and its women are 3-3 in the UE and 4-9 overall. Brandywine's men are 0-4 UE and 0-9 overall, and its women are 2-3 UE and 4-6 overall.
How it happened men: The Wildcats swept all six singles and all three doubles matches.
On the court men: Singles winners were Kyle Shuler at No. 1, 6-2, 6-3; Josh Miller at No. 2, 6-2, 6-1; Logan Ogden at No. 3, 6-3, 6-3; Avery Hawk at No. 4, 6-1, 6-0; Valentino Barillaro at No. 5, 6-2, 6-3; and Lormutor Kpangbai at No. 6, 6-1, 6-1. Doubles winners were Shuler-Myers at No. 1, 6-1; Ogden-Hawk at No. 2, 6-0; and Barillaro-Lormutor at No. 3, 6-2.
How it happened women: The teams split in singles, with each winning three matches, and Brandywine captured the doubles team point with two of three wins.
On the court women: Penn College singles winners were Faith Murray at No. 2, 6-1, 6-2; Kiera Wene at No. 3, 6-1, 6-2; and Cici Miller at No. 3, 6-0, 6-4. The lone Wildcat doubles victory came at No. 2, where Wene-Miller won 6-3.
