WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Penn College defeated Penn St. Brandywine, 6-2, in United East Conference action on Saturday. The Wildcats scored three goals in each half and finished with an 18-6 advantage in shots to finish with a season-high six goals in the win. PCT improved to 4-3-3 overall and 1-0-0 UEC. Penn St. Brandywine is 1-6-0 overall and 0-1-0 UEC.
How it happened: The Wildcats answered an early Nittany Lion goal when
Warrick Beachy scored at 17:15, tying the first half at 1-1.
Sean McGroarty put PCT ahead at 29:45 off an
Elliott Rattiram assist, and
Miller Kahmar added a goal at 40:44. The Wildcats finished the half in front, 3-1.
In the second half, PCT extended its advantage, with
Hunter Gabloff scoring at 59:21,
Joey Singley at 74:16 and
Marvin Martinez at 79:37 to move the score from 3-1 to 6-1. The Wildcats also generated late pressure from restarts, earning three corner kicks between 78:47 and 84:00. Penn St. Brandywine scored at 89:50, but PCT finished the match with a 6-2 win.
Inside the box: Kahmar scored the game-winning goal and put both of his shots on goal. Hudak added a goal on two shots, including one on goal. Rattiram recorded an assist for the Wildcats.
Diego Diaz finished with a team-high three shots.
Brady Houck scored an unassisted goal, finishing with two shots and one on goal. Brian Zuniga also scored an unassisted goal and put one of his two shots on goal.
