Geoff Hensley was named head men's basketball coach at Penn College, in June 2018.
Hensley le the Wildcats to a 10-18 overall record in the 2024-25 season. Penn College went 6-1 in the United East Conference earned the 12th-seed in the United East playoffs where the Wildcats knocked off the fourth and fifth seed to reach the semifinals where they pushed No. 1 seed and eventual champion Bryn Athyn to an 89-88 overtime final. Gavin Barrett and Livingston Cross both earned All-Conference First Team selections for the second consecutive year while Cross earned NABC All-Region honors.
In 2023-24, Hensley led Penn College to its second consecutive 10-win season and hosted the first-ever postseason game. The Wildcats prevailed 100-71 over Penn State Berks to earn the program's first postseason victory. Hensley coached two first-team United East All-Conference selections in juniors Gavin Barrett and Livingston Cross - the first time two Wildcats were first-team selections in the same season.Â
Hensley took Penn College to its first-ever North Eastern Athletic Conference playoff appearance in 2019-20 and coached the program's second-ever all-conference selection during that season. Hensley's 10-win season in 2022-23 was the most in the NCAA era and and saw the Wildcats earn its first-ever United East first team selection.Â
Prior to Penn College, Hensley spent four seasons as the head coach at Thomas College (Maine), where he compiled a 55-52 record and led the team on four trips to the North Atlantic Conference playoffs, as well as a 2017 appearance in the NAC championship game. He coached five all-conference selections during his tenure and was 41-31 in conference play.

Prior to Thomas College, Hensley was an assistant coach at Centre College (2012-2014) and Springfield College (2010-2012). At Centre, he helped guide the team to two tournament championships and a pair of berths to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

As a player, Hensley was a four-year starter and two-time team captain at Norwich University, where he was a three-time all-conference first team selection and the conference Rookie of the Year in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from Norwich in 2006 and a Master of Education degree in Physical Education in 2012 from Springfield.

Following his graduation from Norwich, Hensley spent four years as an active-duty U.S. Naval Officer. During his first tour, he was a division officer on the USS Blue Ridge; he served as a division officer on the USS Doyle during his second tour.
