Vaji came to Penn College in 2018 after serving as the head boy’s basketball coach at Lewisburg High School (Lewisburg, PA) for the past 15 seasons, from 2003-2018. At Lewisburg, he was responsible for all aspects of the boy’s basketball program, including: scouting, practice planning, game preparation and skill development.
Prior to Lewisburg, Vaji was the head boy’s basketball coach at Albert Gallatin High for one season (200-2001) after serving as the assistant men’s basketball coach at NCAA Division III Waynesburg University in southwestern Pennsylvania. Vaji also served basketball coaching stints at: Mapletown High School, University High School, and Tri-Valley High School.
With 21 years of coaching experience, Vaji has a career record of 321-204 along with several Coach of the Year honors, most recently with the Standard Journal Coach of the year (2013-14, 15-16 and 16-17) and Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic conference Division II Coach of the Year (2010-11, 15-16).
Vaji received his Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University where he stayed and received his Master of Physical Education as well.
Vaji is currently the boy’s physical education instructor at Lewisburg High School.
