Travis Heap

Travis Heap was hired as Pennsylvania College of Technology’s assistant women’s basketball coach in July of 2017. His primary responsibilities are coordinating the defense, aiding in recruiting efforts, and assisting in all aspects of the program.

Heap joined the Wildcats following a successful head coaching stint at his alma mater, Montoursville Area High School. In three seasons at the helm of the girls program, Heap posted a 63-16 career record, capped by the program’s first District 4 Class AAAA title since 2000. The 2016-17 campaign concluded with a run to the second round of the PIAA Class AAAA State Tournament and PHAC Coach of the Year honors.

In his first year as head coach for the Lady Warriors in 2014-15, Heap guided the squad to the District 4 AA championship game while qualifying for the PIAA AA State Tournament – the school’s first appearance on the state level since 2000. Additionally, two players surpassed the 1,000-point milestone under Heap’s tutelage at Montoursville.

Heap first served as the girl’s assistant coach at Montoursville in the 2013-14 season, preceded by a post as the boy’s assistant coach at Hughesville Area High School in 2012-13.

A 2013 graduate of Shippensburg University, Heap received a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in sociology while minoring in coaching. He was also a member of Alpha Kappa Delta – the National Sociological Honor Society.

Heap is a native of, and currently resides in, Montoursville, Pa., where he was a three-sport athlete in high school for the Warriors in soccer, basketball and baseball.
