Head coach John McNichol has named Kristen Gedon his assistant for the 2014 soccer season.
Gedon has been active in the soccer community working as a coach for local soccer clubs. Since 2007, she has been with the Soccer Training Network (STN) working with many levels of athletes as well as developing, planning and conducting multiple practices a day for the program’s camps. In 2012, Gedon also coached the West Brand Soccer Club’s U12 team and has been involved with the organization’s summer camps since 2004.
Gedon attended Misericordia University where she was a four-year member of the women’s soccer squad. Her defensive skills on the team led her to be named the Freedom Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week. She graduated in 2011 with a degree in Medical Imaging/Radiologic Technologist.
A graduate of Central Mountain High School, she had a storied career on the women’s soccer team helping them to a 2007 state semifinal appearance. Her efforts led her to be a named First-Team, All-League as well as the team’s MVP.
Outside of Penn College, Gedon works for the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a radiologic technologist. She resides in Watsontown.
