Box Score 2 AURORA, N.Y. – Recording the team's first North Eastern Athletic Conference victory, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball split on day one of a conference crossover at Wells College. The Lady Wildcats lost in straight sets to the host but won 3-1 to Morrisville State College to even out the day. Senior
Courtney Gernert led the team totaling 28 digs between the two games while freshman
Sophie Coldsmith (Gettysburg) totaled 39 assists. With the split, Penn College improves to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the NEAC.
Against Wells, the Lady Wildcats were swept 25-15, 25-17, 25-22. Gernert led the squad with eight kills and 10 digs. Coldsmith totaled 17 assists while freshman
Bridgette O'Leary had four kills with three blocks.
Wells came out on all cylinders totaling 38 kills for the game while the Lady Wildcats totaled 21 but committed 13 errors.
In the team's second match against Morrisville, Penn College took the first two sets 25-18, 25-23. In a tight third set, the Mustangs took it 25-22, but Penn College sealed the victory in set four 25-18. Freshman
Samantha Pogash (Saint Clair) led with nine kills while O'Leary added six.
Defensively, the Lady Wildcats were on point with Gernert totaling 18 digs, Coldsmith 17, Pogash 12 and freshman
Kaitlyn Young (Harrisonburg, Va.) 11.
