Box Score UTICA, N.Y. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology men's team lost its first match of the year with a 2-1 heartbreaker in overtime to SUNY IT. The Wildcats looked to win it 1-0, but a goal in the 87
th sent it into overtime where SUNY IT scored in the first minute to end it. Junior keeper
Hector Guerrero (Mexico City, Mexico) made five saves in the loss while senior
Tristan Smith (Sandys, Bermuda) scored the lone goal. With the loss, Penn College falls to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
Smith's goal came in the first half in the 25
th. The lead held throughout the half that was heavy on the defense as Penn College totaled five shots to SUNY IT's six. Guerrero made four saves in the period.
Each team made six shots in the second half, but it was Vincent Seruhungu's shot in the 87
th that equalized and eventually sent it into overtime. Just 17 seconds into extra time, Francesco Tine connected with Mike Korzun for the winner.
