READING, Pa. - Penn State Berks shutout Penn College 5-0 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's soccer match Sunday. The Wildcats fell to 7-7-3 overall, 7-2-2 NEAC, while the Lions improved to 12-2-2, including a perfect 10-0 in the NEAC.
Lizzie Mummau gave Berks a 1-0 lead in the second minute for the only score of the first half. The Wildcats were held to zero shots in the opening half.
The Lions added four unanswered scores in the second. Penn College managed two shots on frame with
Robyn Beddow's attempt in the 46
th minute and
Hanna Williams shot in the 85
th minute - both were saved.
Berks outshot Penn College 20-3 and held a 5-0 edge in corners.
Colleen Bowes stopped four shots in goal for Penn College, while Paige Elmy picked up two saves.
The Wildcats return to action Tuesday, 7 p.m., hosting Summitt University.
