Klingerman Strikes in Second OT; Penn College Snaps Skid

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Robert Klingerman's goal in the 105th minute propelled Penn College to a 2-1 double overtime win over Bryn Athyn in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Thursday. The Wildcats snapped a six-game losing streak and improved to 6-12 overall, 4-7 NEAC, while Bryn Athyn fell to 8-8-1, 4-6.

Bryn Athyn struck first in the opening half when Joseph Nyumah netted a shot in the 39th minute. The Wildcats were edged in shots 6-5 in the opening 45 minutes.

Penn College goalie Hunter Gosnell turned away four shots in the second half, while the Wildcats caught a break in the 83rd minute when a Bryn Athyn defender inadvertently headed the ball into his own goal to even the contest at 1-1.

Both teams managed one wide shot each in the first overtime to send the contest to a fourth period. Kilngerman's shot in the second overtime came less than one minute after he entered the contest.

Penn College was outshot 17-11 but held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.

Gosnell finished with five saves for Penn College to earn the win in goal.

Penn College concludes its season Saturday, 1 p.m., at Penn State Abington.
