SCRANTON, Pa. – Penn College opened the 2015-16 wrestling campaign going 1-1 at a tri meet hosted by the University of Scranton Sunday. The Wildcats handled Rowan 37-11 before dropping a 42-9 decision to Scranton.
 
Penn College jumped out to a 21-0 lead against Rowan after Ben Doll's fall at 125, Aaron Doll's injury default at 133, a forfeit at 141 and Mason Replogle's 9-5 decision at 149. Rowan picked up a tech fall at 157 and later a forfeit at 174. Troy Leid (165) and Colton Shertzer (197) each earned decisions, Daniel Frankenfield recorded a major decision at 184 and Connor Route closed out the meet with a fall at heavyweight.
 
Replogle decked Dan O'Neil in 1:47 at 149 and Leid earned a 6-4 decision at 165 to pick up Penn College's nine points against Scranton.
