WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lancaster Bible College withstood an early Penn College charge on its way to a 75-62 win in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game Tuesday. The Chargers remained on top of the NEAC and improved to 21-2 overall, 15-1 NEAC, while the Wildcats dropped to 3-20, 2-14.
Kevin Laurence-El led Penn College with 13 points and
Bryce Lonsway finished with 11.
CJ Dunston scored a game-high 17 points for LBC, Albert Suniga added 13 and Naheer Mirza finished with 10.
Penn College erased an early 5-0 deficit with a 7-2 run to even the game at 7-7 after a
James Boylan jumper with 14:20 left in the opener. The Wildcats took their largest lead of the game, 16-11, following
Antony Griffin's layup at 11:23. Griffin's basket capped a 9-4 PCT run, led by Laurence-El's five points. The Chargers answered with the next five-straight points and evened the game at 16-16 with 9:22 left before halftime. After Boylan tied the game the final time, 18-18, with 7:26 left, LBC pulled away and led 37-27 at halftime.
The Wildcats made it a five point game after a
Thomas Ross trey put PC within five, 48-43, with 14:02 left in the game. Lancaster Bible quickly regrouped and built its lead to double-digits for the remainder of the game.
Penn College returns to action Friday, 8 p.m., at Penn State Abington.
