WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lancaster Bible College knocked off Penn College 81-59 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Tuesday. The Chargers remained on top of the NEAC and improved to 19-4 overall, 16-2 NEAC, while the Wildcats dropped to 11-12, 10-8.
Charese Bova led Penn College with 17 points and eight rebounds.
Alicia Ross added 15 points and
Jamie Steer finished with 10 points.
Aubrey Folger netted a game-high 30 points for Lancaster Bible, Katy Stover finished with 26 and Kirsten Webster pumped in 12.
After Lancaster Bible jumped out to an early 10-2 lead with 16:69 on the clock in the first, Penn College rallied with a 9-0 run and led 11-10 with 14:44 left before halftime. Ross scored four in the run for Penn College, Bova added three and Steer two. The Chargers countered with their own 8-0 run to lead 19-11 at the midway point of the first half. Penn College managed to get as close as five, 30-25, after a
Danielle Mowery at 4:40 left before LBC took a 45-28 lead at halftime.
Penn College got as close as 17, 49-32, after a Bova layup with 17:13 left in the game. The Chargers led by as many as 30, 79-49, with 6:14 left in the game. The Wildcats finished the game with six unanswered in the final two minutes.
Penn College returns to action Friday, 6 p.m., at Penn State Abington.
