HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Centenary won four of six contested bouts to hand Penn College a 32-18 setback Saturday night. The Cyclones improved to 4-8, while the Wildcats dropped to 2-11.
Forfeits by each team at 125 and 133 evened the match at 6-6 before Centenary's Adam Swift picked up a technical fall against
Kyle Sunseri to give the Cyclones an 11-6 edge.
Slade Storm's 8-2 decision at 149 pulled the Wildcats within two, 11-9.
Centenary increased its lead to 14-9 after Joe Bartolini's 8-4 decision over
Mason Replogle at 157 before
Troy Leid's 6-2 decision at 165 made it a two point match, 14-12, with four bouts left in the meet. Josh Sibblies decked
Daniel Frankenfield in 2:08 to give the Cyclones a 20-12 advantage before
Connor Route received a forfeit at 184 to get the Wildcats within two again, 20-18.
Centenary picked up a fall at 197 and forfeit at 285 to ice the win.
Penn College returns to action Sunday, Feb. 15, at USCAA Championships hosted by Penn State.
