WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Keuka College struck late to pick up wins in both games of a North Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader softball game Saturday. The Wolfpack won 5-0 and 3-1 and improved to 10-2 NEAC, 10-4 overall, while the Wildcats fell to 7-19, 5-7.
In Game One,
After five scoreless innings, Keuka exploded in the sixth with five runs (two earned) en route to the victory.
Liz Warren tossed a three hitter for Keuka and improved to 6-1.
Stephanie Kramer had a no-hitter through three innings but fell to 0-2 after seven hits and two earned runs.
In Game Two,
Shelby Lyter fired a perfect game through 6.1 innings for Penn College before Keuka knocked in three runs in the top of the seventh inning and held on for the win.
Following five scoreless innings, Penn College took a 1-0 lead when
Nicole Lo Furno went from first to home after a
Samantha Hill's ground out to first sent the first basemen to the ground and she failed to get up time to get Lo Furno.
Karey Wolfe and
Alexandra Brennan each finished with two hits for the Wildcats.
Brianna Bush improved to 4-3 with a complete-game effort. Lyter dropped to 2-9, after allowing four hits and three earned runs.
Penn College returns to action Sunday, noon, at Misericordia.
