Penn College Walks Off With Two Wins Against Cazenovia

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Noah Esposito walked-off in the first game, Jeremy Rall did it in the nightcap, both resulting in Penn College taking two games from Cazenovia in a North Eastern Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader Saturday. Penn College won the first game 6-5 in ten innings and took the second contest 3-2.

Penn College improved to 6-4 NEAC, 12-15 overall, while Cazenovia fell to 3-7, 10-17.

In Game One,
Trailing 5-4 entering the bottom of the 10th, Penn College loaded the bases after an Evan Vigna walk, Zach Weil's double and Cole Weachock's free pass. James Simasek reached on an error that scored Vigna setting up Esposito's sacrifice fly to right that plated Weil.

Penn College used two runs in both the first and second innings to jump out to a 4-0 lead. Weil's two run double in first was followed by Carlos Rodriguez' bases loaded walk and Weil's sacrifice fly to left.
Cazenovia clawed back with a run in the fifth, two in the seventh and one in the ninth and tenth innings.

Ryan Hostrander started the game for Penn College and fired four perfect innings before leaving after seven, with 11 strikeouts and three runs (one earned). Nick Perna picked up the win with one inning of work.

Weil led Penn College at the plate, going 2 for 3 with three RBI.

In Game Two,
Scoring was at a premium in the nightcap after Cazenovia added a run the first, and Penn College answered with two in the bottom of the frame on Weil's two run homer to left field.

Cazenovia evened the game with a run in top of the fifth. Dylan Scaringi stroked a two out double in the bottom of the seventh and Rall brought him home with a hit to center.

Aaron Palmer improved to 2-1 with a complete-game effort for Penn College. He struck out six, walked three and allowed two runs (one earned).
