WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College won a pair of non-conference baseball games against Juniata College Wednesday. The Wildcats won game one 4-3 and took the nightcap 4-0. Penn College improved to 15-16, while the Eagles dropped to 8-26.
In Game One,
Juniata opened up the game with a 3-0 lead after a pair of runs in the first inning and one in the second.
Penn College went on the board after
Noah Esposito's single scored
Deric Ellerman in the third. The Wildcats increased their lead in the fifth with three runs. An error scored Esposito and
Jeremy Rall and
Cole Weachock smacked a sacrifice fly.
Nick Perna improved to 2-1 after three innings of work. He allowed one hit, zero runs, while striking out three and walking one.
Ryan Hostrander earned his first save after one inning with three strikeouts and no hits.
In Game Two,
Penn College scored an early run on an error in the first inning.
Zach Weil knocked in a run with a single in the third before
Andrew Bucher roped a RBI double in the sixth and later scored on an error.
Matt Demilio evened his record at 2-2 after three hitless innings. He struck out three and walked one.
Max Bair picked up a two inning save with three strikeouts, one walk and two hits.
Penn College concludes its North Eastern Athletic Conference regular season Saturday, 1 p.m., against SUNY IT in a doubleheader.
