WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Westminster capitalized on three deflected balls with a trio of goals in the first half en route to a 6-2 win over Penn College in a non-conference men's soccer match Sunday. The Wildcats fell to 2-5.
Gabe Roman, Ethan McCarthy and Zach Medarac each collected deflected shots and found the back of the net to put the Titans ahead 3-0 at halftime. McCarthy pumped in two more scores to open the second half, his final tally giving Westminster a 5-0 advantage in the 57
th minute.
Daniel Hibbs put the Wildcats on the board when he belted a penalty kick to the back of net in the 59
th minute before
Dane Cessna sent a ball to the top right corner to make it 5-2 in the 80
th minute. Justin Brandt scored the final goal for the Titans in the 83
rd minute.
Hunter Gosnell picked up two saves in goal for Penn College.
The Wildcats return to action Friday, 2:15 p.m., hosting Gallaudet.
