WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College converted 35 shots into four goal en route to a 4-0 win over Gallaudet in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's soccer match Friday. The Wildcats remained unbeaten in the NEAC at 2-0, 2-3-1 overall.
Robyn Beddow started the scoring for Penn College when she buried a feed from
Jordan Courter in the fifth minute to put the Wildcats ahead 1-0. Beddow found
Jane Herman six minutes later to give Penn College a 2-0 lead in the 11
th minute.
Christina Weber scored unassisted in the 14
th minute to give her team a 3-0 advantage.
Penn College finished the first half with 18 shots and seven corners and held the Bison two just two shots and one corner.
Caitlin McCarthy scored the final goal of the game in the 57
th minute when she drilled a direct kick into the back of the net.
The Wildcats outshot Gallaudet 35-3 and held a 16-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Gallaudet keeper finished with 12 saves, while
Hailey Heistand and
Colleen Bowes combined for the shutout with for Penn College.
The Wildcats return to action Sunday, 1 p.m. hosting Wilson.
