WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Wilkes University used three forfeits and three bonus points wins to knock off Penn College 38-10 Thursday. The No. 23 ranked Colonels improved to 11-4, while the Wildcats fell to 5-5.Wilkes jumped out to a 14-0 lead after a decision at 125, a technical fall at 133 and a forfeit at 141.
Mason Replogle majored John Ritter, 11-2, at 149 to get Penn College on the board, 14-4. Replogle used a takedown and four near-fall points to lead 6-0 after the first, a takedown in the second and an escape and takedown in the third to secure the win.
Tanner Leid picked up a 7-1 decision at 157 over Ashton Gyenizs. Leid led 2-0 after the first via takedown, secured another takedown in the second and had a takedown and two escapes in the third.
Following a fall at 165 by Wilkes at 165, the Wildcats picked up their last win when
Daniel Frankenfield edged Jacob Brook, 3-2, at 174. Trailing 2-0 after the second period, Frankenfield evened the match with a takedown in the third and earned a point for riding time to pick up the victory.
The Colonels earned consecutive forfeits at 184 and 197 before picking up a pin at 285.
Penn College returns to action Saturday at the Gettysburg Duals.
