COBLESKILL, N.Y. – Penn College dealt SUNY Cobleskill a 5-0 loss in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 8-1 NEAC, 9-5-1 overall, while the Tigers fell to 0-9, 3-10.
Alexis Trkula put Penn College on the board early in the contest when she beat the goalie on a breakaway in the fourth minute off a pass from
Hailee Hartman. Hartman made it 2-0 19 seconds later when she received a pass from
Sarah Kumher and won a one-on-one with the keeper for her 12
th goal this season.
Jane Herman's blast from 18-yards away in the 11
th minute made 3-0 before
Morgan Brooks took a pass from
Caitlin McCarthy and netted a shot in the 23
rd minute to give the Wildcats a 4-0 halftime lead.
Tiffany Brown found Hartman for the final goal of the game in the 50
th minute when Hartman's shot from 23-yards out found the back of the net.
Penn College outshot Cobleskill 23-7 and held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Colleen Bowes picked up four saves in goal for the Wildcats.
Penn College returns to action Sunday, 12 p.m., at SUNY Poly.
