WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College split a pair of meets in a tri-meet Saturday in Bardo Gymnasium. The Wildcats handled Southern Virginia 32-15 before falling to Centenary College 35-13. The Wildcats are 6-9 this season.
Penn College recognized four members of the team --
Daniel Frankenfield,
Connor Route,
Mason Replogle and
Zach Kane -- that were participating in their final home match.
Against Southern Virginia,
Following a forfeit by SV at 125 and fall from the Knights at 133, Penn College won the next five bouts to take a 32-6 lead. Replogle's 16-0 technical fall at 149 against Chris Fletcher gave the Wildcats an 11-6 lead.
Tanner Leid battled for an 8-4 decision over Travis Trahan at 157 before Penn College received forfeits at 165 and 174. Route decked Simon Buchkovich in 58 seconds at 184 for Penn College's final win of the match.
Against Centenary College,
The Cyclones picked up bonus points in three of the first four bouts to lead 16-4.
Aaron Doll secured a 14-6 major decision at 133 and Leid picked up a 6-4 decision at 157. The Cyclones won the next four matches before Penn College picked up a forfeit at heavyweight.
The Wildcats return to action next Sunday at the USCAA Championships hosted by Penn State University.
