WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn State Abington tallied two second half goals en route to a 2-1 win over Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's soccer match Saturday. The Lions improved to 3-1, 2-0 NEAC, while the Wildcats dropped to 0-4, 0-1.
Doug Binnie put Penn College ahead 1-0 when he deposited a pass from
Luke McFalls in the 11
th minute. Penn College missed a chance to add an insurance goal late in the half when
Dane Cessna's shot was stopped by a sliding goalie, and the rebound was shot wide left by
Randy Vance.
The Lions evened the game early in the second half when Richard Domico found the back of the net off a feed by Andrew Costa. They added the eventual game-winner in the 67
th minute when Edward Worthington found Hernado Villamil.
Abington held a 16-8 advantage in shots, and 7-3 in corner kicks.
Malcolm Kane stopped four shots in goal for the Wildcats, while Jose Arroyo turned away two shots.
Penn College returns to action Sunday, 1 p.m., hosting Bryn Athyn at Balls Mills in Williamsport.
