WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College earned its first win this season with a 2-0 shutout against Penn State Abington in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats improved to 1-1-1, 1-0 NEAC, while the Lions dropped to 1-3, 0-2.
Tiffany Brown broke a scoreless tie in the first half when she deposited a
Sarah Kumher pass to the back of the net in the 35
th minute to put PCT ahead 1-0.
Hailee Hartman added an insurance goal early in the second half on an unassisted tally in the 46
th minute.
Both teams were in even in shots, 9-9, while Penn College held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Colleen Bowes stopped six shots in goal for Penn College, while Samantha Friend picked up four saves.
Penn College returns to action Sunday, 11 a.m., hosting Bryn Athyn at Balls Mills in Williamsport.
