WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a heated 1-0 decision to Penn State Harrisburg in a non-conference women's soccer match Sunday. The Wildcats ended a three-game winning streak and fell to 3-2-1, while the Lions improved to 3-4.
Kristen Stark scored the game's only goal in the 28
th minute when she deposited a pass from Eliza Grim.
The Wildcats sent two balls on frame in the opening half with
Hanna Williams and Tiffany Brown both having shots saved.
Penn College had two good looks in the final seven minutes of the game but just missed on both attempts. Williams sent a ball towards the goal in the 82
nd minute, with the Harrisburg keeper out of position, but a defender hustled in from the right to stop the shot.
Caitlin McCarthy belted a ball from about 25 yards out in the 88
th minute that sailed just above the goal post.
The Lions outshot the Wildcats 10-7, while PCT held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
Colleen Bowes finished with four saves in goal for Penn College, while Kayla Arnold picked up two saves for Harrisburg.
Penn College returns to action Wednesday, 7 p.m., at Alfred University.
