WESTMINSTER, Pa. – Westminster broke a 1-1 deadlock with a goal in the 87
th minute en route to a 2-1 win over Penn College in a non-conference men's soccer game Friday. The Titans improved to 1-0, while the Wildcats fell to 0-1.
Penn College opened the game with a score in the second minute when
Luke McFalls dribbled past a few defenders and deposited the ball to the near post to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. WC answered in the 21
st minute to even the game at 1-1.
The teams continued to play an evenly matched game in the second half before Petter Mattocks netted the game-winner with 2:03 left in the game.
Hunter Gosnell turned away five shots on goal for Penn College, while AJ Bove stopped one of three Penn College shots.
The Titans outshot PCT 14-3 and held a 9-1 advantage on corner kicks.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 12 p.m., against Penn State Altoona.
