NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Penn St. Altoona converted a second half penalty kick to hand Penn College a 1-0 setback in a non-conference men's soccer match Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 0-2, while the Lions improved 1-1.
Following a scoreless opening frame – which featured five saves from PCT keeper
Malcolm Kane – Altoona netted a goal in the 54
th minute. Altoona was awarded a penalty kick after the officials spotted some contact between a PCT defender and Seth Murrelle. Murrelle netted his PK and the Lions held on down the stretch.
Altoona held a 16-6 advantage on shots, while Penn College had the edge in corner kicks, 4-2.

Gerry Lua picked up Penn College's two shots on goal, while Kane finished the game with seven stops.
Penn College returns to action Tuesday, 7 p.m., at Keystone College.
