WASHINGTON, D.C. – Penn College dropped a 2-0 decision to Gallaudet University in a North East Athletic Conference men's soccer match Sunday. The loss drops the Wildcats to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the NEAC, while the Bison improved to 3-5-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the NEAC
Gallaudet did their damage early, scoring two goals in the first 16 minutes. The Bison's first goal came on a header by Roel Gutierrez in the 5th minute. Gutierrez scored again on a breakaway in the 15th minute.
The Wildcats struggled to get anything going offensively in the first half only managing three shots.
John Michael Sabga (1) and
Roman Cruz (2) were the only Wildcats to get a shot on goal. All three of the Wildcat attempts were turned away by Gallaudet keeper Noah Means-Simonsen. Penn College goalie
Hunter Gosnell had six saves on the day.
Gallaudet held a 15-13 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
Penn College returns to action Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., hosting Kings.
