WASHINGTON, D.C. –
Hailee Hartman's first career hat trick propelled Penn College to a 6-1 win over Gallaudet University in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's soccer match Sunday. The Wildcats remained perfect in the NEAC at 4-0, 5-3-1 overall, while the Bison fell to 1-4, 2-5.
Hartman scored the first two goals of the game to give Penn College an early 2-0 lead. Hartman's first tally came just 41 seconds into the game when she buried a shot to the left side of the goal, before taking a
Jane Herman pass in the ninth minute and finding the back of the net.
Tiffany Brown made it 3-0 in the 12:50 when she finished off a pass from
Christina Weber in the 12
th minute. Hartman struck again in the 40
th minute when she launched a shot from 25-yards out and found the upper right corner.
Hartman turned into a facilitator in the 51
st minute when she returned a favor and connected with Herman to give PCT a 5-0 lead. After the Bison went on the board in the 87
th minute, the Wildcats scored their final goal in the 88th when
Valerie Kubalak connected with
Morgan Brooks.
Penn College peppered GU with 20 shots and limited the Bison to just two shots.
Colleen Bowes stopped one shot in goal for PCT, while Silvya Levesque picked up six saves.
Penn College returns to action Wednesday, 7 p.m., hosting crosstown rival Lycoming College in the Battle for the Lumber.
