LANCASTER, Pa. – Penn College fell 70-54 to Lancaster Bible College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game Tuesday. The Wildcats dropped to 3-8 overall, 1-5 NEAC, while the Chargers improved to 4-7, 4-2.
Marquis Delgado scored 15 points to lead Penn College, while
Erik Eichinger added 11 and
Thomas Ross finished with nine.
Herbie Brown paced LBC with a game-high 19 points, while Quentin Davis pumped in 11 and Bill Livezey finished with 10.
After a pair of ties in the opening six minutes of the game, Lancaster Bible broke a 9-9 deadlock with a 7-0 run to lead 16-9 with 12:18 left in the first half. Penn College answered with an 8-0 surge – with three points from Ross and
Shaekwon Grant-Wheeler and a layup from
Ben Sosa – to take a 17-16 advantage with 9:46 on the clock. The game went back and forth over the next eight minutes before the Wildcats gained separation when Delgado's long ball put PCT ahead 32-28 with 1:10 left. The Wildcats led 34-32 at halftime.
Lancaster Bible opened the second half with a 30-6 scoring run to take its largest lead, 58-38, with 11:23 left in the game. The Wildcats got as close as 14 the remainder of the game.
Penn College returns to action Thursday, 7 p.m., hosting Penn State Berks.
