WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn State Berks knocked off Penn College 64-48 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Thursday. The Lions improved to 3-6 overall, 3-4 NEAC, while the Wildcats dropped to 1-10, 1-6.
Gwendolyn Lavelle led the Wildcats with 11 points, while
Maddie Wenk finished with 10.
Deanna Daddona scored a game-high 21 points for Berks, while Same Brensinger and Britt Weiss both finished with 14.
Tied 5-5, after two points from
Alicia Ross and Lavelle for Penn College, Berks close out the first quarter with a 9-3 run to lead 14-8. The Lions outscored Penn College 24-12 in the second to lead 38-20 at halftime. Berks had an 18-17 third quarter, while the Wildcats outpaced Berks 11-8 in the fourth.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 1 p.m. hosting Wilson.
