WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College fell to Penn State Abington 66-50 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 3-11 overall, 3-7 NEAC, while the Lions improved to 7-6, 5-3.
Alicia Ross scored a game-high 25 points for Penn College a grabbed a team-best eight rebounds.
Jane Herman netted 13 and shared team-high honors with Ross with eight boards.
Ross is 59 points away from tying former teammate
Jamie Steer '16 (1,422) for the program's career scoring mark.
Shayna Rodriguez led the Lions with 23 points and a game-high 22 rebounds. Marah Hayes added 20 points for Abington.
The Lions held a two-possession lead for the majority of the opening quarter before ending the period on a 5-2 run to take a 16-11 lead. Abington used a 14-4 second quarter to lead 30-15 at halftime.
Abington led by as many as 17 in the third quarter and 22 in the fourth.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, 1 p.m., hosting College of Saint Elizabeth.
