WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College pumped in 48 points in the second half en route to a 79-53 win over Bryn Athyn in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game Wednesday. The Wildcats improved to 6-11 overall, 4-8 NEAC, while the Lions fell to 6-9, 4-6.
Ben Sosa scored a game-high 22 points for Penn College, while
Erik Eichinger added 18 and
Erik Perry Jr. finished with 11.
Jesse White picked up his third double-double this season with 13 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.
Deion Boyer and Stephan Tucker both scored 10 points for Bryn Athyn.
Bryn Athyn held a slim lead for the opening six minutes of the game and took its largest lead, 13-7, with 14:42 left before the break. Penn College used an 8-0 run – with threes from Eichinger and
Thomas Ross and a layup by Sosa – to take its first lead, 15-13, at the halfway mark. The Lions quickly regained the lead and held on to their advantage until
Carson Garvis knocked in a three to give the Wildcats a 29-27 edge with 1:50 on the clock. Penn College led 31-30 at halftime.
BA regained the lead early in the second half and held a 39-34 advantage with 16:09 left in the contest. The Wildcats quickly answered with a 13-0 scoring spurt and led 47-39 on a
Marquis Delgado layup with 10:51 left in the second.
Erik Perry Jr. paced the run with five points for PCT. The Wildcats led the remainder of the game and their lead never dipped below four.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 3 p.m., at SUNY Poly.
