COBLESKILL, N.Y. – SUNY Cobleskill outlasted Penn College 56-46 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Sunday. The Wildcats dropped to 3-15 overall, 3-11 NEAC, while the Tigers improved to 11-7, 7-4.
Jane Herman picked up her second career double-double with a team-high 15 points and a team-best 14 rebounds.
Gwendolyn Lavelle finished with 11 points for Penn College.
Addy Lawson scored a game-high 17 points for Cobleskill and Shelby Preston added 12.
The Wildcats held a small advantage once early in the game when
Alicia Ross finished off a four-point play after a trey and a free throw. Cobleskill led 15-13 after the first quarter. Ross tied the game for a final time on a layup early in the second to make it 15-15 before the Tigers held a two-possession lead for the majority of the quarter and led 31-24 at the break.
Cobleskill's lead never dipped below three the remainder of the game and never went above 10.
Penn College returns to the court Wednesday, 6 p.m., at Penn State Berks.
