KEUKA PARK, N.Y. –
Francesca Timpone broke a 1-1 deadlock in the second half when she netted a shot in the 58
th minute to lift Penn College to a 2-1 win over Keuka in North Eastern Athletic Conference women's soccer match Wednesday. The Wildcats improved to 6-6-3 overall, 3-2-2, while the Wolfpack suffered their first conference setback and dropped to 5-6-1, 4-1-1.
The Wolfpack went ahead 1-0 in the fifth minute and limited the Wildcats to just one shot on goal,
Ashley Donat's attempt in the 18
th minute was stopped, to take a one-goal lead at the break.
Penn College evened the game in the 52
nd minute when
Hailee Hartman found
Tiffany Brown to make it 1-0. The Wildcats struck again six minutes on Timpone's unassisted tally in 58
th minute to give PCT the lead for good, 2-1.
Taylor Gonzalez picked up two of her five saves in the second half, turning away shots in the 62
nd minute and 86
th minute to keep the Wildcats lead intact.
Keuka outshot Penn College 14-5, while the corners were event at 1-1.
Penn College returns to the pitch Saturday, 3 p.m., at Penn State Abington.
